As the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, we all get a fresh start and a chance to set or reset goals for the year ahead. Make no mistake it’s gonna take some discipline to set new patterns and routines. That’s why most New Year’s Resolutions don’t work out.
Did you know that most people fail their resolutions within the first two weeks of the year? In fact the second Friday of January has been coined as “Quitter’s Day” because of this.
Its time to rethink our resolutions, its time to be more realistic with ourselves. Slow and steady wins the race and we are going to make 2025 the year of achievable goals. Here are some ‘soft’ goals that you can achieve in 2025.
1. Take Your Vitamins & Drink Your Water

Of course everyone’s goal is to drop weight by the summer, but let’s start with baby steps, like baby baby steps. The key here is discipline. No better way to develop discipline than with a routine. Many people are missing key nutrients to even get to the gym. We are gonna fix that. Our first tip is to get a regular routine of taking vitamins and drinking water.
This was a life changer for me personally. I used to wake up in the mornings feeling AW-FULLL. I was always dizzy and in pain. I researched and found that I am likely missing vital nutrients to even function daily. I added a regimen of vitamins and saw the difference almost immediately.
I recommend getting a pill organizer like this one . Put all your pills in it and set your alarm on your phone everyday to remember to take them at the same time.
My vitamins regimen include
- Vitamin E for my heart and eyes ( ya girl is blind).
- Vitamin C for immunity.
- A turmeric pill for inflammation and gut probs ( life changer). I drink turmeric tea as well.
- Cranberry pill ( for my not enough water days).
- B-12- b/c every time i go to the doctor, I have low RBC. ( i get this one of amazon
- Zinc- I do not recommend every day! twice a week tops!
- Fish Oil
- Vitamin D- this targeted the pain i was feeling when i woke up in the mornings!
- A pre or probiotic. I tried a mega spore probiotic that was $75, but didn’t feel any change so i take the Olly’s pro+prebiotic and they help with my digestion really well.
- L-Theanine (x2) for anxiety, though I’m trying Bacopa now. I’ll give you an update on it soon.
- Sugar Bear Hair Gummy -I know these got marketed to us for all the 2010s but the pills reallllly work for me.
If you’re like me, your prefer a matcha throughout the day rather than water. But bestie, you need the water. Drink water but make it fun by using a cute tumbler.
I like this one because it tells you how much you’ve drunk and how much more you have left with the time stamp.

In a world of Stanley cups girls, I remain a YETI girly pop, so I use this one to keep my water cold through out the day. I like that it has the straw because everything just taste better with the straw, doesn’t it?

2. Learn Something New and Meet New People

Challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone by acquiring a new skill or deepening your knowledge in an area of interest:
I actually invested in row class that I really enjoy. I also took up tennis and have made 3 new friends because of it. You need to try something.
Here are some ideas:
- A running club- for those looking to workout and make new people. Search social media for some in your area, sometimes they are free!
- Paint Class- for the artistically gifted.
- Improv Class- I have a friend who did this to work on her public speaking. She was so funny and recently got married with two of the people from the theater in her wedding. A lot of these local theaters are non-profits so you’re also helping out your community!
- Check Facebook groups for inspiration. I personally love a good Facebook group. There are so many niche communities there that I am sure someone has created a group exactly what you are interested in!
4. Be Kinder to Yourself
Self-compassion is key to overall well-being. Start treating yourself with the same kindness you extend to others.
Daily affirmations are a real thing. Say them in the mirror every morning until you believe them.
Journaling has changed my life. I personally don’t think I’m journaling properly; mine is more like a burn book. Either way, writing down your feelings will help you channel you emotions and feel better and be a better person. This is a soft goal, we can get to transformational journaling later.
Setting boundaries to protect your time and energy. I cannot stress this enough, just say NO! Yes it feels bad when you say it but it feels even worse when you don’t. SAY NO. If you’re a reader, try this one out, its a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ : The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*CK
Celebrate your achievements, no matter how small. If you took your vitamins for a week straight, you absolutely deserve that new car. Okay maybe just a large latte instead of a small.
5. Take Steps Toward Financial Stability.
Money-related goals are among the most popular resolutions and for good reason. Financial health can reduce stress and open new opportunities. Ideas include:
- Creating and sticking to a monthly budget.
- Building an emergency fund.
- Paying off debt or starting a savings plan.
- Learning about investing or personal finance.
6. Contribute to Your Community
Making a positive impact on the world around you can bring a sense of purpose and fulfillment. Think about:
- Volunteering at a local food bank. They always need help! My job volun-tells us every quarter and it is an amazing experience.
- Participating in community clean-ups or drives.
- Supporting local businesses and artisans.
- Advocating for causes you’re passionate about.
7. Reduce Stress and Simplify Your Life
Modern life can be overwhelming, but a resolution to simplify can help you reclaim your peace of mind:
- Decluttering your home and donating unused items. You do not need your IPAD 2 from 2011 charger, get rid of it!
- Practicing digital detox by reducing screen time. Read a book instead, public libraries are free and under attack so use them!
- Prioritizing tasks. I like to make list and check them off one by one to keep up momentum.
8. Set Career Goals
Your professional life deserves just as much attention as your personal one. Ambitious yet achievable resolutions might include:
- Pursuing a certification or skill relevant to your career.
- Building a strong professional network.
- Improving your work-life balance.
- Setting clear milestones for career advancement.
9. Be More Environmentally Conscious
Even small actions can contribute to a healthier planet. Consider resolutions such as:
- Reducing single-use plastics. Get a tumbler and reuse it. Try glass Tupperware instead of plastic.
- Supporting eco-friendly products and companies.
10. Track Your Progress
Whatever your resolutions maybe, tracking your progress will help you stay committed. Use tools like:
- A journal to document your journey.
- Apps designed for habit tracking or goal-setting.
- Monthly check-ins to reassess and adjust your goals.
Final Thoughts
The key to successful New Year’s resolutions lies in setting realistic and meaningful goals. Remember, progress is more important than perfection. Celebrate every step forward and enjoy the journey as much as the destination. Here’s to a year filled with growth, joy, and achievement. Happy New Year!
