The time has come to get dressed up to go no where. FYI, I consider this to a be a very serious fashion event. Here’s a guide to Thanksgiving outfit ideas that’ll keep you looking chic and feeling cozy all day long.
1. Casual and Cozy: The Sweater and Jeans Combo
The old faithful- you can never go wrong with a classic sweater and jean outfit. If your Thanksgiving involves lounging, watching movies, or playing games with family, a cozy sweater with jeans is a classic go-to look. Opt for an oversized knit in fall hues like burnt orange, deep green, or mustard yellow for a seasonal touch. Pair it with straight-leg or skinny jeans and ankle boots or loafers. This outfit is not only comfortable but also effortlessly stylish—perfect for those who want to look good without too much fuss.

2. Effortless Elegance: Skirt and Blouse
For those looking to make the look more feminine, a skirt paired with a blouse offers a stylish yet comfortable option. Choose a denim or flowy skirt in fall colors and pair it with a fitted blouse or turtleneck. You can complete the look with ankle boots or ballet flats, depending on your style. This look is perfect for a more formal Thanksgiving dinner or a Friendsgiving celebration.

Fran could do no wrong, I have recreated this look in the past.

Another classic: black mini and sweater, you just can’t go wrong.
This is my take on the skirt and blouse last year. I was so lucky to find this Burberry skirt. I matched it with a loose white sweater and some Paris Texas boots.

3. Jumpsuits and Rompers
If you want something unexpected but incredibly comfortable, consider a jumpsuit. A jumpsuit in a solid color or subtle pattern can be just as chic as a dress, but with a unique twist. Pair it with a cozy cardigan or a tailored blazer for a bit of warmth. Ankle boots or low heels complete the look, making it both stylish and functional.
Pro Tip: For Thanksgiving, go with a jumpsuit that has a bit of stretch so you can comfortably enjoy all the food without feeling restricted.
Amazon has some trending jumpsuits just in time for the Holidays. These were my favorite, links on click.
I have gone with a romper in the past myself. Here’s me two years ago. Check out the Lookbook for the deets.

4. A Sweater Dress
Sweater dresses strike the perfect balance between casual and chic, making them ideal for Thanksgiving gatherings. Choose a mid-length or knee-length sweater dress in a warm, earthy tone or classic black. Pair it with knee-high boots for a sleek, polished look. Layering a long trench coat or a plaid scarf can add sophistication and warmth, especially if you’re heading outside for family photos or an autumn walk.
I own this sweater A-line dress from amazon. I love that it is pleated at the end. I only wear heels and boots so this dress is perfect for it.

5. Preppy and Polished: Plaid Pants
Plaid pants are perfect for adding a seasonal twist to your Thanksgiving look. Pair high-waisted plaid trousers with a cozy, fitted sweater in a complementary color for a preppy and polished outfit. This look strikes the balance between casual and sophisticated, making it ideal for family gatherings or a Thanksgiving dinner party. Finish with loafers or ankle boots for a refined look. These really make things casual so you can throw your hair in a bun and add a flat for shoes.

Pro Tip: Stick with autumnal colors in your plaid pants, like deep red, forest green, or brown, for a festive feel. A tucked-in sweater or turtleneck can create a sleek silhouette, adding a modern touch to the classic pattern.
